JPIC promotes the principles of justice, peace, and integrity of creation, as articulated by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Vatican. The three principles are linked by a concept called "integral ecology" (2015 papal encyclical, Laudato Si). Integral ecology advocates for a holistic approach to addressing the political, social, economic, and environmental problems that plague our world today. It follows Catholic social teaching and provides opportunities for Catholics to live their baptismal call to love God, neighbor, and all of creation.
